Freshman Soccer News
October 22, 2004
The season ended Friday night at East Syracuse-Minoa, for the
freshmen girls with a 1-1 double overtime tie.
Rome’s lone goal was scored by Kaitlin Fahey, off of an assist from Emma
Duchesneau. Emma Duchesneau and Katherine Puma combined their talents in goal
with 11 saves in net. The girls played
a tough game between two well-matched teams!

Freshmen tie one at home against visiting Oswego by a score of 1 – 1. Shannon
Kierpiec was Rome’s scorer in the first half of the game off of an assist from
teammate Lisa Schilling. Nice job girls!

The RFA Freshman win one at home against
visiting East Syracuse-Minoa by a score of 2-0 !!!! Emma Duchesneau scored off
of an assist from Laura Schilling and Shannon Kierpiec scored on a penalty
kick. Emma Duchesneau and Catherine Puma combined for the shut-out in
goal. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The RFA Freshman girls soccer squad lost a road
game to Baldwinsville 3-1. Kim Bates
scored Rome’s lone goal, which was assisted by Vanessa Tibbits. Goalkeepers
Emma Duchesneau and Catherine Puma combined for 12 saves for RFA, who fell to
0-3 overall.

The girls Orange soccer team defeated
Donovan 5-1. Elizabeth Lopez had 2 goals. Erin Thomas, Molly Messenger,
and Chelsea Holz each had a goal. Erin Thomas, Carrie Last each had an
assist and Molly Messenger had 2 assists. Alyssa McLean made 10 saves and
was stellar in goal. Final Record 10-2. "What a great way to end the
season. Girls played hard all year and it was a pleasure coaching them."

The
girls BLACK team lost their
last game of the season to visiting Whitesboro by a score of 2-0.
Our girls played a tough defensive game against a large team of 30+ Whitesboro
players. The girls stayed strong and held there own against this tough team. “This
year was a lot of fun for me, I hope the girls enjoyed it as much as I
did. I look forward to watching them through

Orange girls
soccer defeated the Black girls soccer team by a
score of 3-1 on Thursday. Orange
goals were Erin Thomas, Chelsea Holtz, and Nichole Wiltsie. Erin Thomas, Molly Messenger, and Nichole
Wiltsie each had an assist. Karina
Swanson was solid in goal and recorded 12 saves. The
Black team's goal was scored by Jennifer Tarbania and was assisted by Brandy
Kotary. Jazmin Costello and Michelle
Baker split time in goal, Costello had 6 saves and Baker had 4. Next game for both teams is on Saturday. Black
team is home against Whitesboro and Orange
is at Donovan. "Good game for both
teams. Tough field conditions but both teams played with a lot of heart an
effort. Both teams have improved
greatly since the first scrimmage." – Coach Howard

The girls BLACK soccer team beat Donovan 8-0 on Tuesday.
Danielle Pauba scored three goals, Alex Bongiorno-Halpin and Erica Foley both
scored 2 goals, and Stacy Spindler had 1 goal. Brandy Kotary had 2
assists and Eleanor Holdridge had 1 assist. Michelle Baker and Jazmin
Costello combined for the shutout. – Coach Mudry

all three goals. Hilary Baker had an assist and Molly Messenger also had
an assist. Alyssa McLean and Karina Swanson split time in goal and
combined for 10 saves. Next game on Thursday against the Black
team. "Tough game, had to come back in the second half and
win. Looking forward for the big game on Thursday against the Black

The Orange modified girls soccer defeated Notre Dame by a score
of 4-1 on Saturday. Elizabeth Lopez had a goal and an assist.
Hilary Baker, Erin Thomas and Chelsea Holtz each had a goal. Molly
Messenger had 2 assists. Karina Swanson and Alyssa McLean split time in
net and recorded 7 saves. "Team came out of the gates strong with 3 first
period goals. Had to hang on and play a good defensive 4th quarter to
ensure the win. Good overall effort." – Coach Howard
The Black modified
team had an overtime, 0-0 tie with visiting Holland Patent on Saturday.

soccer team defeated JFK by a score of 7-0 on Thursday, 10/14. Erin Thomas
scored twice. Hilary Baker had a goal and an assist. Molly Messenger, Elizabeth
Lopez, Nichole Wiltsie, Carrie Last all scored. Carrie Bachmann and Chelsea Holtz had an assist. Alyssa McLean and Karina Swanson split time
in goal and recorded the shutout. Next

Soccer Team
beat Notre Dame 6-2 on Thursday. Alex Bongiorno-Halpin scored two
goals. Danielle Pauba and Kara Popovich each scored one goal.
Brandy Kotary and Alyssa Torres each had one goal and one assist. Jazmin
Costello made two saves and Michelle Baker made five saves. Defense had
another strong performance. Great job girls!
